For a company that provides a total solution for soil sanitation, water purification and soil processing DDM transported a mobile soil sanitation installation from Northern Spain to its new site in the Netherlands. The unique installation, designed and built by the company itself, had been in service for a few years on the coast of Northern Spain, cleaning the sand that had become seriously contaminated a few years ago by the oil tanker ‘Prestige’ that had sunk. After the project in Spain had been completed the installation could be deployed on an innovative separation project for one of the largest industrial companies in the Netherlands. An important factor for the transport was that the wagons arrived in Northern Spain on time because they had to be loaded by cranes and the installation manager had flown over especially for the loading.
Because the installation had to be re-assembled in accordance with a pre-defined schedule, it was very important that the components were delivered in the Netherlands in the correct sequence and in accordance with the planning. In the Netherlands the installation had to be re-assembled quickly so that it could be put back into service as soon as possible. The installation consisted of 16 wagon loads, of which 10 were abnormal loads. The entire job was organised by DDM and was ready, from start to finish, in less than a week – to the client’s complete satisfaction.
